Bharti Real Estate, the real estate arm of Bharti Enterprises and owner of the Worldmark brand, has launched Abhigyan, an industry-academia engagement initiative designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application in the real estate and infrastructure sector.
Designed as an experiential field-visit programme, Abhigyan focuses on providing students with practical exposure to large-scale developments. The initiative enables participants to understand the finer aspects of planning, design and execution that define modern urban infrastructure, moving beyond theoretical knowledge.
The programme commenced with its first on-ground engagement involving civil engineering students from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The students visited Worldmark Aerocity, where they experienced an immersive walkthrough of the development. The visit offered first-hand insights into how a global business district is conceptualised, planned and executed at scale.
During the session, students were introduced to key elements such as integrated design, construction management, project planning and the complexities involved in delivering premium commercial developments. The interaction also included a discussion with S. K. Sayal, who shared insights into the evolving dynamics of the sector.
Senior leadership from Bharti Real Estate, including Kamal Kumar Dua, Amit Tyagi, Ajay Kalia, Cherryn Dogra and Pankaj Garg, along with industry consultants Raja Raja Menon and Amrit Pal, engaged with the students. These interactions provided deeper insights into project lifecycles, execution strategies, operational challenges and best practices in large-scale developments.
Speaking on the campaign, S. K. Sayal, MD & CEO, Bharti Real Estate, said: “Abhigyan reflects our commitment to fostering industry understanding and nurturing future talent through real-world exposure. As infrastructure and real estate continue to evolve in scale and complexity, it is important for young professionals to understand how such developments are brought to life beyond textbooks. Through this initiative, we aim to offer a practical lens into the sector and inspire the next generation to actively contribute to India’s growth story.”
Allan L Marbaniang noted that the programme offered valuable exposure to planning, construction and on-ground coordination. He added that such hands-on experiences play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of engineers.
Abhigyan is envisioned as an ongoing platform that will engage leading academic institutions through curated field visits and expert interactions. By combining practical exposure with industry insights, the initiative aims to create meaningful learning experiences and equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the real estate and infrastructure ecosystem.
