Burmese speciality restaurant chain Burma Burma has secured over INR 38 crore (about USD 4 million) in a recent private funding round, taking the company’s valuation to nearly INR 500 crore (USD 53 million).
The investment round included participation from existing backer Negen Capital, along with new investors Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth.
The fresh funds will be used to expand into new cities while strengthening its footprint in current markets. It plans to grow steadily, focusing on maintaining consistent food quality and customer experience as it scales operations.
Founded in 2012, Burma Burma currently operates 21 outlets across major Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. The brand has positioned itself in the premium casual dining segment, offering a curated vegetarian menu centred on Burmese cuisine.
In terms of financial performance, the company has reported annual recurring revenue of over INR 200 crore. It has achieved a compound annual growth rate of around 50% over the past three years. For FY25, outlet-level profitability stood above 21%, while EBITDA margins were approximately 8%. During the same period, the company’s valuation rose significantly from INR 150 crore to INR 500 crore, supported by expansion across metro markets and improved unit economics.
Prior to this round, the company had raised about USD 7 million in funding. Co-founders Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta continue to hold a majority stake in the business.
