The EdTech company offers comprehensive services through a single platform, covering university selection, test preparation, admissions, visa assistance, education loans and accommodation. Today, Leap has established itself as one of the region's leading overseas education platforms, supported by a network of more than 750 global universities and over 500,000 student success stories. The company is now rapidly strengthening its AI capabilities, expanding its global presence and growing its offline network across India.
Leap was founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Singh, Arnav Kumar, and Rajan Chaudhary. The founders believed that Indian students possess immense potential to excel at world-class universities and build successful global careers. However, they recognized that the lack of reliable guidance, financial support and accurate information was one of the biggest challenges for aspiring students. With this vision, Leap was established to make the entire study-abroad journey simpler, more transparent and more affordable.
Building a Strong Presence Through AI and Innovation
The company's growth journey has been marked by several significant milestones. In 2020, Leap launched Leap Scholar and IELTS Test Prep, making study-abroad preparation more structured and technology-driven for Indian students. In 2021, the company raised $77 million in funding and partnered with more than 750 universities and colleges worldwide. In 2022, Leap secured an additional $75 million in funding and surpassed 175,000 student success stories.
Building on this momentum, Leap expanded its study-abroad ecosystem by acquiring Yocket and played a key role in facilitating more than ₹500 crore in education loans for students. In 2025, the company raised another $65 million in funding and surpassed 500,000 students successfully placed abroad, further strengthening its position as South Asia's largest AI-powered study-abroad ecosystem.
With its latest funding, Leap is further enhancing its AI-powered technologies to provide students with personalized counselling, smarter university recommendations, document assistance and a faster application process. The company believes that artificial intelligence will make the entire study-abroad journey more accessible, affordable and transparent.
Expanding Its Offline Presence Across India
As part of its expansion strategy, Leap has announced the launch of 15 new offline centres across India in 2026. This expansion will not be limited to metropolitan cities but will also extend to Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities. According to the company, these centres will provide high-quality counselling through trained experts, standardized training systems and secure, digital, paperless processes.
In addition, Leap aims to establish 20 more operational touchpoints by the end of 2026. Using data-driven demand mapping and heat-mapped intent clusters, the company plans to prioritize emerging education markets such as Indore, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Hubballi and Kolkata. The objective is to strengthen its presence in regions where access to quality study-abroad services remains limited.
Shaping the Future of Global Education with AI
The founders of Leap believe that the combination of artificial intelligence, data intelligence and human expertise will redefine the future of global education. With this vision, the company continues to simplify, strengthen and make the study-abroad journey more accessible for millions of Indian students. Through its latest funding, expansion plans, and AI-driven innovations, Leap is not only reinforcing its position in India's EdTech industry but is also preparing to shape the future of global student mobility.
