HORIBA India Private Limited, a part of the HORIBA Group, has acquired 100% of the shares of Pristine Deeptech Private Limited, making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Pristine Deeptech, based in Gujarat, is a research and development startup focused on utilising lab-grown diamonds in semiconductor and quantum research.

The acquisition aims to reinforce HORIBA’s expertise in diamond technologies and support the creation of an R&D hub in India. By combining Pristine Deeptech’s knowledge in diamond research and vacuum technology with HORIBA’s analytical and measurement technologies, the company seeks to enhance innovation across the semiconductor value chain. The move also strengthens HORIBA’s capability to deliver advanced analytical and measurement solutions.

HORIBA has had a business relationship with Pristine Deeptech since 2023. The partnership now establishes a local R&D footprint for advanced materials in India, positioning the company to contribute to innovations that could have global applications.

The HORIBA Group, headquartered in Japan, has a long history of investing in research and development. Since the 1990s, it has built R&D centers in countries including France, the United States, and the United Kingdom. India has been identified as a potential global hub for innovation due to its growing industrial base, and HORIBA has been working to strengthen its local research capabilities.

HORIBA India, established as a separate legal entity in 2006, operates in three business verticals: Energy and Environment, Bio and Healthcare, and Materials and Semiconductor. With around 500 employees and an average annual growth rate exceeding 15%, the company aims to achieve revenues of 20 billion JPY by 2028 under the leadership of President Dr. Rajeev Gautam.

HORIBA globally has around 9,000 employees and operates in 28 countries. The company is recognised for its market-leading products in emission measurement systems and mass flow controllers, alongside other technologies in energy, healthcare, and materials research.
