JBM Ecolife Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its electric bus operations in India with new deployments in Delhi and Gandhinagar, taking its total fleet to over 3,000 electric buses nationwide.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 103 nine-metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses, which have been added to the city’s public transportation system. With this induction, JBM’s electric bus fleet in Delhi has grown to nearly 1,000 units.
In another development, JBM Ecolife has signed an agreement with the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation under the central government’s PM e-Bus Sewa scheme to supply 100 electric buses. In the first phase, 40 buses will be delivered by the end of the 2025–26 financial year, which is expected to increase the company’s operational fleet in Gujarat to around 500 buses.
The buses for Gandhinagar will be fully air-conditioned 25-seater vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras, automatic doors, and accessibility features for senior citizens and differently-abled passengers. Supporting depot and charging infrastructure is also being developed.
According to the company, JBM electric buses have covered more than 300 million kilometres over the past five years, served over one billion passengers, and helped reduce more than one billion kilograms of carbon emissions. The buses are manufactured at JBM’s facility with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.
