Lite Bite Foods Pvt. Ltd. Co-Founder and Managing Director Rohit Aggarwal has announced his retirement after a 24-year leadership journey, bringing to a close a defining phase in the company’s evolution and growth within India’s food and beverage industry.
His exit marks the end of an era in which Lite Bite Foods transformed from an early organized food retail venture into one of the country’s leading and most diversified hospitality groups.
Established in 2002 by Amit Burman and Rohit Aggarwal, the company was built with the vision of delivering world-class dining experiences to Indian consumers. Over the years, it has expanded into a strong portfolio of 19 owned and five managed brands, operating over 160 outlets across 19 cities in India, alongside an international footprint spanning Singapore, Washington D.C., Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bangkok.
Today, Lite Bite Foods employs more than 4,500 people and has served over one crore guests across its diverse restaurant concepts and culinary formats.
During this growth phase, Amit Burman and Rohit Aggarwal played complementary roles in building the business, while Burman focused on strategic direction and financial leadership, Aggarwal led operations, brand building and expansion. Together, they developed well-known brands such as Punjab Grill, YouMee, Zambar, Asia Seven and Street Foods by Punjab Grill, each reflecting a focus on innovation, consistency and elevated dining experiences.
Reflecting on his journey, Rohit Aggarwal said, “Every brand we built, every team we grew and every guest we welcomed was guided by a belief that food has the power to bring people together. I step away with immense gratitude for everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey and complete confidence in the talented team that will lead the company into its next phase of growth.”
Over the years, Rohit Aggarwal has played a key role in shaping Lite Bite Foods into a prominent name in India’s hospitality and restaurant sector, helping build brands that have found strong resonance with consumers across both domestic and international markets.
With the company now moving into its next phase of growth, Lite Bite Foods is expected to further strengthen its legacy of innovation, quality and customer-focused dining experiences, principles that have guided its journey over the past two decades.
