He said that success in life is not determined solely by marks, but by hard work, confidence and a positive mindset.
During the 131st episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, he specifically addressed students of Classes 10 and 12 who are currently taking their board examinations. He asked them whether they were feeling excessive stress about their studies. He added that feeling nervous during exams is natural, but there is no need to be afraid of it.
Describing students as 'Exam Warriors' the Prime Minister said that every generation has experienced anxiety during examinations. At times, students worry about whether they will remember everything, or fear that time may run out. However, he reassured them that such feelings are normal and that every student goes through them.
He emphasized that students should not become overly worried about a single question. If a question is not understood, they should move on and answer what they know with full confidence. He stated, “Your worth is not defined by your marks. Trust yourself and write your exams with complete dedication.”
The Prime Minister also said that parents and teachers do not judge children only by their marks, but by their effort and hard work. Therefore, students should communicate openly with them and share their thoughts and concerns. This helps reduce stress and builds inner strength.
He also mentioned the 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' programme, saying that it goes beyond exam preparation. The initiative also focuses on life skills, time management, goal-setting, and handling pressure. The 2026 edition of the programme was organized in several cities including Coimbatore, Raipur, Devmogra, Guwahati and New Delhi. A special session was also held on a cruise on the Brahmaputra River in Assam, making the programme more unique.
The Prime Minister Shared a Few Simple Suggestions For Students
Take short breaks during study sessions, limit the use of mobile phones and social media, get adequate sleep, eat balanced meals, manage time wisely, plan studies properly and avoid comparing oneself with others.
He further stated that examinations are only a small milestone in the long journey of life. True success comes through confidence, consistent effort and positive thinking. In conclusion, he extended his best wishes to all students, encouraging them to appear for their exams fearlessly and move forward in the direction of fulfilling their dreams.
