In line with this trend, edtech startup YoLearn.ai has raised USD 500,000 (approximately ₹4.3 crore) in a pre-seed funding round. The company was valued at USD 5 million (around ₹43 crore) during this investment round. The funding was co-led by DataAlpha.ai and White Swan Global with participation from a group of angel investors.
According to the company, the fresh capital will be used to strengthen its AI-powered tutoring platform, enhance its voice-first audiovisual tutor, expand live sketchpad capabilities and increase its presence across India's school and competitive examination ecosystem.
AI Tutor Offers Real-Time Interactive Learning
YoLearn.ai was launched in January 2025 by education entrepreneur Kirti Prakash Mishra. It is a voice-first AI tutoring platform designed to enable students to interact with an AI tutor in real time, much like they would with a classroom teacher.
One of the platform's key features is its live interactive sketchpad. Instead of simply providing answers, the AI tutor explains concepts by drawing diagrams, illustrations and step-by-step solutions on a virtual whiteboard, making complex topics easier and more engaging for students to understand.
Focused on Board and Competitive Exam Preparation
YoLearn.ai supports the curricula of NCERT, CBSE, ICSE and various State Boards. However, the company's primary focus is on students in Classes 9 to 12, particularly those preparing for board examinations alongside competitive exams such as JEE, NEET and CUET.
The company claims that its study content is aligned with the complete syllabus for both board and competitive examinations. Its AI tutor analyses each student's learning pace, preferred language, academic performance and knowledge gaps to deliver personalized learning guidance.
Available in 22 Indian Languages
YoLearn.ai's AI platform supports voice interactions in 22 Indian languages, including Hindi and Hinglish, enabling students from diverse linguistic backgrounds to learn in the language they are most comfortable with.
The company has also developed AI tutor personas based on the teaching styles of popular educators. In addition, it offers partner schools the ability to create AI avatars of their own teachers, allowing students to receive guidance in a familiar teaching style anytime and anywhere.
Accessible Through Web and Mobile Apps
Students can access YoLearn.ai through its official website as well as dedicated Android and iOS mobile applications. On mobile devices, the platform is available under the name YoTutor.ai.
According to the company, the platform has already crossed 200,000 cumulative users across its web and mobile applications. The growing user base reflects the increasing demand for AI-powered personalized learning solutions among students.
