EduLife 2.0 to Boost Digital Governance and Quality Education Across 1,500 MCD Schools
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has taken a significant step towards modernising, digitising and making school administration more transparent by launching the EduLife 2.0 portal across its more than 1,500 primary schools.

The portal was inaugurated by Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi at the Civic Centre. On the occasion, he also unveiled the 'Achievement Chronicle', a publication highlighting the achievements of the MCD Education Department.

Mayor Pravesh Wahi said that EduLife 2.0 is not just a digital platform but a major initiative aimed at making the education system in MCD schools more efficient, transparent and accountable. He said the portal will integrate academic planning, student progress monitoring, digital learning resources and school administration into a single platform. According to him, the initiative reflects MCD's commitment to providing quality, technology-enabled education in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

A Unified Digital Platform for More Than 1,500 Schools

Through EduLife 2.0, academic and administrative data from more than 1,500 MCD primary schools will be available on a single digital platform. This will eliminate the need for education officials to repeatedly collect reports from individual schools. Information required for Right to Information (RTI) applications, House and Parliamentary questions and policy planning will now be readily accessible through the portal.

According to the Education Department, a significant amount of time and manpower was previously spent collecting information from schools. Under the new system, schools will periodically update their data on the portal, enabling officials to access records instantly. This is expected to streamline administrative processes while reducing the workload on schools.

Teachers to Benefit from Digital Teaching Resources

EduLife 2.0 offers a wide range of digital resources for teachers, including lesson plans, worksheets, assessment tools, digital planners and teaching-learning material aligned with NEP 2020.

Teachers will be able to upload student assessment data, monitor academic progress and access digital learning resources through the portal. The Education Department believes the system will significantly reduce paperwork, allowing teachers to devote more time to classroom teaching and student learning.

Greater Parent Participation in School Education

The EduLife 2.0 portal is designed not only for teachers and administrators but also to strengthen parental involvement in their children's education. Through the platform, parents will be able to monitor their children's academic performance, mid-day meal records and school activities.

Schools will also be able to upload Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) reports and parental feedback digitally. This is expected to improve communication between schools and parents while supporting the overall development of students.

A New Platform for Alumni and Meritorious Students

EduLife 2.0 also features dedicated sections such as the Alumni Corner and Success Story. The Alumni Corner will enable former MCD students to stay connected with their schools and mentor current students. Meanwhile, the Success Story section will showcase students' achievements, inspiring others to excel.

MCD Education Committee Chairman Yogesh Verma said that the names of meritorious students will also be displayed on the portal. This will help sports academies, social organisations and other institutions identify talented students and provide them with opportunities and support.

Strengthening Digital Governance in School Education

Speaking at the launch, Mayor Pravesh Wahi said EduLife 2.0 will enhance transparency in academic planning, student progress monitoring, digital teaching resources and school administration. He added that the platform would also encourage greater parental participation, making the education system more accountable and student-centric.

Leader of the House in MCD, Jai Bhagwan Yadav, said that while adopting new technology may present some initial challenges, it will ultimately help teachers analyse students' learning progress more effectively, leading to improved educational outcomes.

A Major Step Towards Digital Education Under NEP 2020

Education experts believe that EduLife 2.0 will strengthen digital governance, data-driven decision-making and smart school management across MCD schools. The portal also supports the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises technology-enabled learning, digital resources, continuous assessment and greater parental engagement in education.

With the launch of EduLife 2.0, MCD has demonstrated that modern technology can significantly improve the quality of education and administrative efficiency in government schools. In the coming years, the initiative is expected to benefit not only teachers and students but also create a more transparent, digitally enabled and learner-centric ecosystem across Delhi's government schools.
