EKA Mobility Begins Electric Bus Deployment in Rajasthan
Under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, 876 electric buses will be deployed across Rajasthan, with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma flagging off the first batch in Jaipur.

Electric commercial vehicle manufacturer EKA Mobility, in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan, has commenced the deployment of electric buses in the state. The first batch of buses was flagged off in Jaipur by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, marking the beginning of a large-scale public transport electrification initiative.

The rollout is part of a larger order for 876 electric buses awarded under the Central Government's PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, which aims to expand modern, sustainable public transport in cities with limited organized transit infrastructure.

EKA Mobility secured the project through a joint consortium with Chartered Speed. Under the agreement, Chartered Speed will be responsible for the operations, management, and deployment of all 876 electric buses across eight cities in Rajasthan.

The buses are built on EKA Mobility's modular electric commercial vehicle platform and feature connected fleet management systems along with zero tailpipe emissions. To improve accessibility, the buses are equipped with an integrated wheelchair lift door system, enabling easier boarding and deboarding for passengers with disabilities.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, said the Rajasthan deployment marks another significant milestone in the company's expanding electric commercial fleet operations. He added that EKA Mobility has recently expanded its electric bus services in Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Andhra Pradesh, reinforcing its commitment to advancing clean and sustainable public transportation across India.
