OP Jindal University Launches New Master’s Programs, Expanding Opportunities for Students
These courses aim to train youth in professional skills related to democracy, election administration, political strategy, communication and lawmaking.


OP Jindal Global University has launched three new Master’s degree programs in Electoral Analysis, Political Communication and Legislative Drafting for students. These programs aim to meet the growing demand for professionals in democracy, electoral processes and lawmaking.

Prominent Figures at the Inauguration Ceremony

The ceremony was graced by Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, as the Chief Guest and Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), as the Special Guest. Additionally, India’s Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, the University’s Chancellor and Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal and several other dignitaries were present.

Introduction of Three New MA Programs

The university has introduced three one-year MA programs as follows:

- MA in Legislative Drafting
- MA in Electoral Analysis & Management
- MA in Political Communication

These courses aim to train youth in professional skills related to democracy, election administration, political strategy, communication and lawmaking.

Focus on Strengthening Democracy

Om Birla emphasized that India is the world’s largest democracy and these new courses will further strengthen the democratic system. He mentioned that active youth participation will give new direction to democratic processes, technological development and public engagement.

The Importance of Legislative Drafting

Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that every word in legislative language is significant, and accurate drafting is the foundation of governance. He added that through these courses, students will gain a deep understanding of lawmaking and administrative processes.

Coordination of Academic and Practical Training

According to the university administration, these programs will include internships, live projects, interactions with policymakers and practical training, which will enhance students’ professional competence and increase employment opportunities.

Contributing to Democratic Dialogue and Policy Making

The new programs aim to prepare students to contribute to democratic dialogue, research and policy making. Through these courses, students will be equipped to pursue careers in governance, media, regulatory institutions and international organizations.
