Clean mobility technology company Setrans Mobility has been granted a patent by the Indian Patent Office for its innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging system. Headquartered in Noida, the company has designed and developed the triple-mode EV charging architecture entirely in India without relying on any foreign technology partnerships.
According to the company, the patented technology is based on three operating modes aimed at improving power management and reducing stress on the electricity grid.
The first, Smart On-Grid Mode, regulates energy delivery during stationary charging to minimize peak-load impact on the grid. The second, Integrated Off-Grid Backup Mode, uses built-in energy storage units to continue charging even during power outages. The third, On-Demand Mobile Mode, enables modular mobile charging units to be transported directly to the location of electric vehicles.
Rana Roshan Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Setrans Mobility, said, "Securing this patent validates our team's commitment to developing pioneering engineering solutions and showcases India's capability to innovate in advanced EV technologies."
The company stated that the charging architecture can be deployed commercially without requiring extensive upgrades to existing grid infrastructure. Setrans Mobility now plans to roll out the patented technology across retail, commercial, and automotive distribution networks as part of its commercialization strategy.
