The government’s initiative to integrate AI into the education system has been praised by Union ministers. They noted that the government is working towards comprehensive and visionary reforms in the education sector, inspired by Indian philosophy, cultural values and national priorities. The goal of these efforts is to modernize education while retaining its Indian essence.

During a media interaction in the national capital, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan mentioned that India’s education system is gradually moving towards the use of AI in various sectors. He highlighted that, as a significant step in this direction, a special app for teachers has been developed in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation, which was launched in November 2024. This app is proving helpful in connecting teachers to digital resources.

He further clarified that at present, India's education system is adopting AI at several levels. Recently, a new and advanced version of this app was launched in collaboration with the CK-12 Foundation. This updated version will provide teachers with more effective digital learning tools, making the teaching and learning process simpler, engaging and modern.

Promotion of Education Modernization

Dharmendra Pradhan stated that all these initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, which emphasizes the modernization of education while keeping Indian values at the center. He referred to a program held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the Prime Minister called for freeing the country from colonial mindsets by 2035, so that India can be self-reliant in its education, thought and approach.

The Education Minister also mentioned that the National Education Policy (NEP) is being implemented in line with the Prime Minister's vision, ensuring that India's education system reflects its unique identity and rich heritage. The NEP aims to promote not only job-oriented education but also character building, ethics and holistic development.

In this context, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the Prime Minister gives top priority to national security in every address, whether in Parliament, the 'Mann Ki Baat' program or any public platform. He stated that this reflects the government's unwavering commitment to the nation's security and defense.

Arjun Ram Meghwal also mentioned a seminar where discussions were held on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's "Integral Humanism" and its relevance in the AI-driven era. He explained that the purpose of this discourse was to understand how Indian philosophical ideas can guide the ethical, balanced, and human-centered use of modern technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence.
