Zelio E-Mobility has announced the launch of a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, marking a significant step in its expansion across eastern India. The move follows strong demand and customer acceptance in Odisha and West Bengal, which have emerged as key growth markets for the company.
The new plant is expected to reduce delivery timelines and logistics costs by bringing production closer to customers, as vehicles were previously shipped from the company’s facility in Hisar. With the commissioning of the Odisha unit, Zelio’s total installed production capacity has increased from 72,000 units per annum to 1,80,000 units annually. The upgraded Hisar plant now contributes 1,20,000 units per year, while the Odisha facility adds 60,000 units annually.
Built with an investment of under ₹3 crore, the plant is now operational and will focus exclusively on manufacturing electric two-wheelers. The facility is expected to generate employment for 60 to 100 people and support the company’s expanding dealership network across eastern and southern India through faster deliveries and improved after-sales support.
Managing Director Kunal Arya said the new facility strengthens the company’s presence in one of its fastest-growing regions while contributing to India’s EV ecosystem. The expansion comes after Zelio reported strong H1 FY26 performance, posting consolidated revenue of ₹134.78 crore and net profit of ₹11.87 crore.
With over 337 dealerships across more than 20 states and a growing portfolio of mass-market electric two-wheelers, Zelio aims to accelerate growth by leveraging regional production hubs and rising EV adoption across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
