Beerud Sheth is the Co-founder and CEO of Gupshup, the world’s leading Conversation Cloud Platform, enabling businesses to engage customers through conversational messaging and AI. Under his leadership, Gupshup has delivered over 250 billion messages globally and today handles more than 10 billion messages per month. Before Gupshup, Beerud founded Elance, an online freelancing platform that pioneered the gig economy. He served in leadership roles including CEO, VP and Board Member, driving the company’s product strategy, business development, fundraising and overall growth. Elance later merged with oDesk to form Upwork, which went public in 2018 and has since become one of the world’s largest platforms for independent work. Beerud also serves on the Board of Directors of the IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation. Earlier in his career, he worked in financial services, modelling, structuring and trading fixed-income securities and derivatives at Merrill Lynch and Citicorp Securities.
