Through the state’s startup policy and the AI Pragya Program, preparations are being accelerated to build an innovation-driven economy in the state. The government aims to train around 1 million youth in AI and digital technologies, providing them with new opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship.
Boosting the Startup Ecosystem
Through combined efforts in startup policy, AI skilling, and technological investment, startup activities are rapidly increasing in cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Noida, and Varanasi. This is providing new direction to the MSME sector and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth.
400 STPI Units Operational
To strengthen the technology-based startup ecosystem in the state, around 400 units of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) are currently active. Additionally, the state aims to develop more than 100 startup incubators.
Through these incubators, young entrepreneurs are being provided with guidance and resources to transform their innovative ideas and technical projects into viable businesses. Global tech giants like Microsoft and Google are partnering to provide youth with modern digital skills and AI training.
Growth in Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing
The electronics and mobile manufacturing sector in Uttar Pradesh is also growing rapidly. With approximately 65% share in India’s mobile manufacturing, the state is emerging as a major production hub.
This growth is energizing the startup and MSME sectors as well. The supply chain linked to mobile and electronics manufacturing is creating new opportunities for many small and medium enterprises, boosting local employment and strengthening the state’s economy.
AI Labs and Digital Training in ITIs
To connect youth with future technologies, AI labs are being established in 49 ITI institutes across the state. Through these labs, students will receive practical training in AI, data analytics, and advanced digital technologies.
The objective is to prepare youth according to industry requirements and make them competitive at a global level. Additionally, students will receive training in startup and technical entrepreneurship, enabling them to launch their own businesses and innovation-driven projects.
Continuous Growth in IT-ITES Exports
The impact of increasing investment in IT and technology is also visible in exports. The IT-ITES sector in the state has been expanding steadily, with exports now exceeding ₹44,000 crore.
This growth indicates that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly becoming a major hub for digital and technological innovation. The state’s new tech policies, combined with initiatives to train youth in AI, digital skills, and entrepreneurship, are further strengthening the sector, playing a crucial role in the state’s global competitiveness and economic development.
