Hansraj College to Integrate AI Technology into Mass Communication and Digital Media Education
Hansraj College of Delhi University has signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Foundation for Media & Innovation Institute (GFMI).

This initiative has been launched in collaboration with Balaji Foundation and APN News. Its objective is to provide students with industry-oriented courses related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), media, communication and digital innovation. Under this new educational initiative, students will be prepared according to the needs of the modern media industry.

The college administration believes that AI and digital technology will become an important part of the media and communication sector in the coming years. Therefore, it has become essential to provide students with an understanding of new technologies along with traditional education.

Through this partnership, emerging technologies will be integrated with professional education in areas such as mass communication, advertising, marketing, legal studies and digital media. The aim is not only to provide theoretical knowledge to students but also to offer practical and employment-oriented education.

Special Focus on AI and Media Technology

Under this new initiative, students will receive special training in AI-powered journalism, digital branding, OTT production, content creation, media technology and strategic communication. The program will focus on helping students understand the needs of the rapidly changing digital world and prepare themselves for the future media industry.

The college says that the use of AI-based technologies is increasing rapidly in the media industry today. AI is being widely used in areas such as news production, digital marketing, content management and audience analytics. In such a situation, providing students with knowledge of these technologies has become the need of the hour.

Under this initiative, students will not be limited only to classroom learning. They will also receive training through industry-based projects, practical assignments and live media production. This will provide students with real work experience and help them better understand industry requirements.

New Courses to Begin from July 2026

Professor Rama, Principal of Hansraj College, said that the college has always focused on academic innovation and future-oriented education. She stated that through this partnership, students will get practical exposure, knowledge of emerging technologies and opportunities to connect with the industry.

She also informed that the AI-integrated media and communication courses will begin in July 2026. These courses have been designed in a way that students can understand both the challenges and opportunities of the modern digital media industry. Meanwhile, representatives associated with the partnership described the agreement as a major step toward an innovation-driven education model. According to them, the initiative will combine technology, creativity and employment opportunities.

According to college officials, these programs will be available in both online and offline modes so that students across the country can benefit from them. The availability of digital learning will also help students from remote areas gain access to modern media education.

Students to Receive Industry Exposure

Under this partnership, students will not only receive academic education but will also be provided with internships, workshops, mentorship and career counseling opportunities. In addition, students will receive live industry exposure and placement assistance.

Experts believe that in today’s time, having only a degree is not enough. Students also need industry-ready skills for employment opportunities. Keeping this in mind, the program has placed special emphasis on skill development and professional training. Through this initiative, students will also receive research opportunities. Research in areas related to media, AI and digital communication will be encouraged so that students can understand future possibilities.

Gap Between Education and Industry to Be Reduced

The main objective of this program is to reduce the gap between academic learning and actual industry requirements. It is often observed that students may have degrees, but they lack adequate understanding of the technical demands of the modern media industry.

Through this new initiative, students will get opportunities to learn from industry experts, work on live projects and understand modern media tools. This will improve their employability and help them secure better career opportunities.

In this context, education experts believe that the introduction of AI-based media education in India can bring major changes in the future. This partnership could emerge as a model for AI-integrated media studies in the country and may inspire other educational institutions in the coming years.
