This agreement was signed on 20 May 2026 at SAIL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi. The main objective of this partnership is to develop future leaders within the organization and strengthen the executive education system.
Under this collaboration, both institutions will jointly design specialized training and education programs that prepare officers in line with changing industry needs and global competition. This initiative goes beyond traditional training and focuses on modern management skills, strategic thinking, leadership development, and innovation-based learning.
Focus on Leadership Development and Modern Training Model
Under this MoU, customized leadership development programs will be conducted to make SAIL officers more competitive at the global level. These programs will emphasize strategy, innovation and leadership development. An ‘action learning model’ will also be included, under which officers will learn by working on real business challenges and enhancing organizational decision-making capabilities.
The agreement also includes overseas learning programs, where officers will be exposed to international working methods and best practices. In addition, joint research and consulting projects will be undertaken to further strengthen collaboration between industry and academia. Special case studies will be developed according to the needs of SAIL officers to make the training more practical and outcome-oriented.
Global Collaboration and Organizational Capability Expansion
The main objective of this initiative is to enhance SAIL’s Organizational Capability and align it with global standards. The program will not be limited to knowledge transfer alone but will also focus on improving real-world performance, decision-making ability and leadership skills. The MoU was signed by Sanjay Dhar, Executive Director (HR-L&D), MTI SAIL and Professor Sumita Rai, Dean (Industry Connect), MDI Gurgaon, in the presence of senior officials including K. K. Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL.
